Since we’re talking about Grand Funk Railroad, I thought I would touch on a subject that’s a little frustrating for most Grand Funk Railroad fans, including myself. That subject is the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, or the Rock & Roll Hall of Shame, as many like to call it. This institution decides which bands are worthy to be included in their version of Rock History. They pick bands that they think have been influential. Well then, Madonna’s in there, but Grand Funk isn’t?! Let me list some facts here:
Grand Funk Railroad has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide.
Grand Funk Railroad sold out a concert at Shea Stadium faster than The Beatles.
Mark Farner has influenced many singers and guitar players across the world.
Do you really NEED any other reasons? No, you don’t. If the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame can induct Rap and Pop artists, they can induct Grand Funk Railroad. Case closed!
